Civil Society Brewing is located in Jupiter, Florida and specializes in hazy IPAs – they are my favorite craft beer brewery by a mile. When they opened in 2015, their flagship IPA, Juice, was my gateway to craft beer and began my love of IPAs. Over the years I have tried a lot of different beers at Civil Society and I’ve attended every anniversary block party which hosts some of the best breweries you can find.
Disclaimer: Civil Society Brewing Co. will be the only 5-star brewery review on the site as it was my introduction to craft beer and how I judge all other breweries.
It has been a long time coming for this Civil Society review and I am a little disappointed in myself that I haven’t published it sooner. I fondly remember back when they first started releasing cans, waiting in an insane line in the Florida heat, to get a 4-pack of their latest release before they sold out. Fast-forward to 2024 and they now have 2 locations, the original in Jupiter, Florida, and their new taproom in West Palm Beach, Florida – gone are the days where you had to wait in lines for releases as they have a more than adequate amount of each release at both locations.
Strap in as we go through the beers that I’ve tried from Civil since 2015 – keep in mind that these are mostly the cans that were sold to-go. Photos of drinking beer at the brewery have either been lost or they never happened – those high ABV IPAs sneak up on your quickly!
Civil Society Brewing Beer
Are you ready for some beer? Kick back and enjoy a cold one as we go through most of the Civil Society Beer that I’ve tried since they opened in 2015. I am sorry, it is a lot but as I mentioned, they are my favorite brewery and I try my best to taste as many as possible!
Most of the beers pictured below will be cans or crowlers that were purchased to go – I tried my best to find and properly label the different beers that I’ve had on draft and at the anniversary block parties over the years.

Tim
8th Anniversary Triple IPA (Marshmallow)
- Type: Triple IPA with Marshmallow
- ABV: 10%
This marshmallow variation of the 8th Anniversary Triple ran out super quick but we were able to snag a glass and it was amazing – way better than the standard version that was available in 4-packs to buy in my opinion!

Civil Society had beer-mosas on tap and this was incredible! I bought a 4-pack of the knock off IPA to make these at home – if it ever comes back I highly recommend giving this a try.

I went to Civil the day they released this beer and Coolinary Cafe was there serving up the most amazing chicken and waffles to go along with this super unique waffle beer. While the chicken and waffles were incredible, the beer was definitely different and not one I’d probably drink on the regular.

Tim
Fresh Black Currant
- Type: American IPA with Black Currant
- ABV: 6.2%
Fresh Blood
- Type: American IPA with Raspberry & Marshmallow

I had this when it was released and had to get it again on their second release – love this variation of Fresh as the raspberry and marshmallow make it smooth and tart.
Tim
Fresh Colada
- Type: American IPA with Coconut & Pineapple
- ABV: 6.2%
I was nervous about this one as Fresh Coconut if probably the only IPA Civil has done that I didn’t care for but I was pleasantly surprised at this beer. Hands down my favorite version of Fresh aside from the original – it really does taste like a creamy piña colada and I could drink these all day at the beach in the Florida sun.

Tim
Invisible Spectrum
- Type: Sour IPA with Raspberry & Vanilla
- ABV: 6%
Juice
- Type: Double IPA
- ABV: 8%
My first ever beer at Civil Society back in 2015 and this is what started it all for me – Juice is not released often but when it is I try and have some of it which is a little more difficult now that we moved to St. Augustine which is 3 hours away. This is one of my favorite beers of all time by a mile and if you want a top-notch Double IPA then you need to give it a try.
Tim

Pie To The Face
- Type: Sour IPA with Banana & Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Collaboration with Mortalis Brewing Company)
- ABV: 6.5%
Mortalis makes some crazy smoothie sours with their Hydra series of beers so this was an awesome collaboration to pick up – Civil and Mortalis knocked it out of the park with this Sour IPA which didn’t have that terrible fake banana taste to it at all.
Tim
Pulp
- Type: American Wheat Ale
- ABV: 6.3%
Pulp is another flagship beer from Civil Society and it is, dare I say, my favorite beer from them. I know it is considered a wheat beer but let’s be honest here, this is a hazy IPA disguised as a wheat beer. I’m going to go ahead and just put Juice, Fresh and Pulp in as my #1 beers and let that be that.
Tim

I believe this was Subject 7 at one point which is how Civil releases their experimental beers and I am glad it got it’s own name as it is such a great beer and deserves to be released frequently.

Civil Society Brewing Anniversary Block Party
Every November, Civil Society hosts a block party in Abacoa, where their flagship, Jupiter, Florida, brewery is located to celebrate another year in business. I’ve personally been to every single block party and since the first one it has grown tremendously and become an event that hosts some of the best breweries around.
The block party usually consists of little tents that visiting breweries are pouring at and then Civil Society has their own tent with special release beers specifically brewed for the anniversary party. This is a ticketed event so if you are wanting to check out an anniversary party at Civil Society then make sure you purchase a ticket when they go on sale each November.
The ticket will get you a commemorative glass – yes, they are made of glass so be careful how much you drink so you don’t drop it! Each year the design is different and I think year one and two are my favorite out of all of them. In addition to unlimited beer samples with your ticket purchase, you can also check out their anniversary merch and special release to-go beers to purchase.
