The Dolly Llama Waffle Master – St. Johns, FL (Review)

We’ve been seeing signs for The Dolly Llama Waffle Master all around town and have been looking for a reason to go to try it out and give our review. Well, Sophia, Mena’s niece, has a birthday this week so we decided to pick her and her sister up and treat them to some ice cream and bubble waffles.

Honestly, we had no idea this plaza existed but we are glad we went on a little adventure to finally see what all of the buzz is about with these crazy ice cream and bubble waffle concoctions. The Dolly Llama is situated in the corner and they have plenty of signage to lead you right to their front door which has the coolest logo we’ve seen in a long time.

Upon entering the store, the smells are amazing – who doesn’t love the smell of fresh waffles?! The overall vibe of the shop is super chill and everyone loved all of the llamas everywhere. I will say that we got lucky and when we visited it was decorated for Halloween already which was a cool bonus.

It also has to be mentioned that the staff was super-friendly and were definitely patient with us and helped a lot as we tried to figure out what we all wanted to order.

The Dolly Llama Waffle Master Desserts

There really is something for everyone here – if you don’t like waffles then you can just get a cup of their ice cream which is delicious, or enjoy one of their fantastic milkshakes. Sophia and Kaelyn had to try the bubble waffles of course and Mena and I went for a milkshake and one of their express items – basically a pre-made waffle with toppings.

Nutella Strawberries (Express)

Description: Signature OG Liege Waffle topped with nutella sauce and fresh strawberries.

My first impression was that it looked beautiful and the fruit was super fresh. The waffle was incredible and had the perfect amount of nutella – 10/10 would recommend it to anyone!

Mena

The Dolly Llama (XL Shake)

Description: Ultimate Cookie Monster ice cream, whole milk, oreo crumbs, kinder bars, chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

I mean blue is my favorite color so it was only right that I ordered this milkshake and holy smokes, I was glad that I did. It was surprisingly not too sweet and was absolutely delicious. Mena stole the Oreo cookie and Kinder bar that were left at the bottom once I finished the milkshake.

Mint N’ Chip Bubble Waffle Jr.

Description: Mint N’ Chip ice cream in the signature bubble waffle, but smaller, for the kiddos, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.

I was excited about the big waffle and the ice cream was really good!

Vegan Birthday Cake Bubble Waffle Jr.

Description: Vegan Birthday Cake ice cream in the signature bubble waffle, but smaller, for the kiddos, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.

This was my first time trying vegan ice cream and I loved it!

If you are looking for a new spin on traditional ice cream then I definitely recommend bringing the whole family to The Dolly Llama Waffle Master – we promise that you will not be disappointed.

Don’t forget to order at least one of the bubble waffle ice creams so that you get a custom Dolly Llama spoon – the design of this spoon is genius and whomever came up with it needs a raise!
