  3. About Reve Brewing

Reve Brewing has overtaken Wicked Barley as our #1 brewery in North Florida – let’s take a deep dive and review why we love Reve so much! While it may not look like much from the outside, located in a little strip mall in Atlantic Beach, Florida, Reve Brewing transports you to another world once you enter the brewery.

Depending on the time of the year, the tap room will be decorated with a different theme, whether it be for Halloween or their annual Tiki Week, each time we go it seems like we are in for a treat.

Mena and I have been to Reve three times so far and every time the beer has been excellent and the service has been top-notch. Also, Bones Pizza, which is located inside of Reve Brewing, is serving up some of the best, no, make it THE BEST, wood fired pizza in all of North Florida – I know the pizza elitists are going to come after me but I stand by my statement.

Our review is going to be split up into the three different times we’ve visited Reve Brewing – don’t worry we did not try all of this beer during one session!

Reve Brewing Beer

The beer offered at Reve consists of different styles of IPAs, sours, stouts, and of course, beer slushees! While they don’t do the fancy paddle or holder for a beer flight, they do offer 5 oz. taster pours of all their beer.

Enough of me talking about everything but the beer, check out what we’ve tried thus far at Reve Brewing below:

Heavy Sky

Heavy Sky – Reve Brewing
  • Type: West Coast Double IPA
  • ABV: 8.3%

Heavy Sky is a solid West Coast DIPA – if you are into IPAs from the other side of the states then this one’s for you.

  • Type: Double IPA
  • ABV: 9%

Not sure what to think about this one. It was definitely not terrible but out of the five beers we tried during our first visit to Reve Brewing, this was our least favorite.

Reverse Pep Talk

  • Type: Double IPA
  • ABV: 9.1%

While at 9.1%, this is a solid, non-hazy DIPA that goes down smooth, if not a little too smooth.

Measuring A Summer’s Day – Reve Brewing
  • Type: Sour with Tangerine, Vanilla & Lactose
  • ABV: 5%

Vanilla can make or break a sour and this combination was excellent – Reve has their sour game on lock!

  • Type: Sour with Passionfruit, Pineapple & Watermelon
  • ABV: 5%

The watermelon was the star of the show in this sour and it wasn’t the terrible artificial tasting watermelon either – I’d gladly drink this any day!

Tim

Pastime Paradise

  • Type: Sour with Guava, Passionfruit & Vanilla Ice Cream
  • ABV: 5.5%

Paradise is right! Give me one of these sours every day of the week and I’d be a happy man!

Tim

Tropic of Haze

  • Type: Hazy IPA with Pineapple, Guava, Mango & Lactose
  • ABV: 6.5%

IPAs with fruit treatments are hit or miss for me and Reve Brewing knocked this one out of the park – one of the best, if not the best, flavored IPAs I’ve ever had!

Banana Coconut Pineapple Beer Slushee

  • Type: Beer Slushee with Banana, Coconut & Pineapple
  • ABV: NA

This was our first beer slushee at Reve and holy cow was it delicious – these things are too good to be true!

Painkiller Beer Slushee

  • Type: Beer Slushee with Pineapple, Coconut & Nutmeg
  • ABV: NA

Tiki Week brought on two new beer slushees and the painkiller-inspired one was our absolute favorite – bring me one of these while I sit on the beach, please!

Tim

Saturn Beer Slushee

Saturn Beer Slushee – Reve Brewing
  • Type: Beer Slushee with Lemon, Passionfruit, Botanicals, Falernum & Almond Orgeat
  • ABV: NA

While not as good as the first Tiki Week beer slushee, this one went down easily as well – a lot going on as far as flavor but not bad by any means.

Guanabana Beer Slushee

  • Type: Beer Slushee with Guanabana
  • ABV: NA

Our fourth beer slushee from Reve and as with the first three, this was absolutely delicious. Is there any way I can have one of these machines, filled with Reve slushees, at home?!

Don’t forget to grab a 4-pack or special release bottle of beer to-go in the beer fridge located in the back of Reve. I’d make sure to have Tropic of Haze at home at all times if I were you!

Bones Pizza

In addition to a fun atmosphere, with various themes throughout the year, excellent beer and beer slushees, Reve Brewing is also home to Bones Pizza. I was not lying above when I said it is hands down the best wood fired pizza in North Florida. Bones Pizza offers a great variety of different pizzas and on each of the three occasions we’ve visited Reve their pizza has been consistently delicious.

Even if you are not a huge fan of craft beer, I recommend visiting Reve Brewing just for Bones Pizza – I promise you will not be disappointed. Below you will find our two favorite wood fired pizzas which we’ve ordered on all three trips to Reve Brewing and Bones Pizza:

Pesto

Pesto – Bones Pizza
  • Ingredients: House Pesto, Mozzarella, Local Cugino’s Sausage, Feta, Cremini Mushrooms & Fresh Jalapeños.

This pizza is what I order whenever we visit Reve and I am always blown away – the fresh jalapenos give a nice little kick to an already delicious pizza.

Tim

Rosemary

  • Ingredients: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Rosemary, Sea Salt & Pepper

Simplicity really is the key more times than not and this pizza is a perfect representation of that. Mena will always order this as she is not a fan of anything spicy – I am perfectly ok with that as I get the Pesto pie all to myself!

Tim

Whew! This was quite the review but a well-deserved one at that. It will be hard for another brewery in North Florida to overthrow Reve Brewing as our #1 brewery. If you are ever up in the Atlantic Beach area of Florida, make it a necessity to stop in and give this amazing brewery and pizza spot a try!
