Hop Atomica quickly became a top brewery for Mena and I – we have no shame driving 5 1/2 hours from Florida to take a trip to this little microbrewery located in Savannah, Georgia. Let’s take a deep dive into both of our visits as we review a brewery that we highly recommend to all of you craft beer nerds out there.
Hop Atomica Beer
The taps at Hop Atomica look like an art installation and are pouring some amazing beers. The variety of beers on tap will surely have something for everyone and a beer flight is a must if it is your first time visiting.

Hop Atomica Sample Beer Flight
It is our goal to get a sample flight when available at every brewery we visit. Mena and myself have found this to be a great way to discover some amazing new craft beers. Visually, Hop Atomica’s beer flight is stunning and the beers tasted as good as they looked – let’s take a quick look at the samples we tried during our first visit in 2021:
- Cookies & Creme – Pastry Stout (5.3% ABV)
- Violet Beauregarde – Blueberry Milkshake IPA (6.5% ABV)
- Supasonic – Cherry Limeade Fruited Smoothie Sour (7.6% ABV)
- Back to Work – DDH Hazy IPA (6.9% ABV)
- Faultline – West Coast IPA (7.3% ABV)
In addition to having several taps in the brewery, they also offer a fridge of to-go cans and the most important part is that they are single cans! You can grab 1 of each if you choose to do so and are not locked into purchasing an entire 4-pack – more breweries need to do this in my opinion! Below you will find the to-go beers that we picked up on our two trips to Hop Atomica.
I’d Have A Puppers
I don’t usually go for lagers but I had to have this beer just for the name alone. I’d Have A Puppers is an American Lager (4.2% ABV) that is quite refreshing – you could definitely sip on these all day while you are sitting on the beach.
Flux Capacitor
An ode to a cult classic, Flux Capacitor (8.5% ABV) is a double juicy IPA that gets the job done. Foggy IPAs are my jam and this is definitely 1.21 gigawatts of pure glory in a can – 100% my favorite beer from Hop Atomica.
Free Shavacado
Free Shavacado (4.6%) is exactly what it says it is, a lime and mint mojito sour. Be careful as you could easily crush 5-30 of these things and wonder what in the world happened.
Bling Pop
I mean, I am not really sure how to describe this one – the name pretty much sums it up. If you take a ring pop, melt it down and add some alcohol, boom, you’ve got Bling Pop (5.4% ABV), a super duper berry punch. I do dig sours but something about this one was just not for me.
Fish Bowl
Fish Bowl (6.25% ABV) is a can Mena and I picked up during our second trip in 2022 and I am glad that we did. We both love IPAs and this DDH IPA is really good – I wish we would’ve bought more than one can of this!
Resting B!tch Face
To wrap up the beers we’ve tried at Hop Atomica is Resting B!tch Face (6.8%) which is a DDH Juicy Hazy IPA. Give any of your friends who actually have resting bitch face a can of this delicious IPA and their attitude will change for the better in an instant – this is my second favorite beer from Hop Atomica.
Hop Atomica Food
Now that we have discussed all of the amazing craft beer, let’s take a second to talk about the food. This little microbrewery in Savannah, Georgia is not only serving up amazing beer and cocktails, their food is out of this world. On both occasions, 2021 and 2022, Mena and I have thoroughly enjoyed the food. The first trip we took to Hop Atomica we stuffed our faces with an amazing Margherita PIzza and the best salad we have ever had which has since been removed from the menu – that’s ok because on our second trip they added the mushroom collard melt which is to die for.
Let’s take a quick look at the food we’ve enjoyed during our visits to Hop Atomica:
Mushroom Collard Melt
Mena was not a fan of this sandwich but I am a sucker for collard greens and this Mushroom Collard Melt was absolutely incredible. I have never had collards on a sandwich before and I must say that it is really good, Hop Atomica hit it out of the park with this one.
Classic Margherita Pizza
During our first visit we had just drove in from St. Augustine, Florida so we were absolutely starving and this classic margherita pizza hit the spot. Mena and I devoured it, you all are lucky we were able to get a picture of it before it was gone. During our second trip to Hop Atomica this pizza did not have the balsamic glaze on it but was equally as delicious – definitely a safe bet if you are looking for something delicious to eat with your craft beer or fancy cocktails.
As you can see from the photos above, the food at Hop Atomica is top-notch and the brewery is definitely a perfect place to plan lunch if you are ever in Savannah, Georgia.
