Historically Hoppy Brewing Company is another brewery located in the Springfield Historic District in Jacksonville, FL and was our second Jax Ale Trail stop of the day to review. I had not heard a lot about this brewery but I’m super glad we finally made it in.

Upon entering the tap room we immediately thought to ourselves that it was super chic and had such a chill, laid-back vibe. There is ample space in the brewery to hang out and enjoy a great beer.

I personally think that the best part of the brewery is the baby prison that they have set up for young kids to go in and play. Ollie loved sitting at the little table they have and played with the Lego blocks – it definitely beats having kids run all around the tap room so kudos to Historically Hoppy for making it a kid-friendly environment.

Ok let’s get on with the actual beer review shall we?

IPAs were the star of the show at Historically Hoppy but there were also a few porters, a brown ale, as well as a red ale on tap.

Sign me up for all of the IPAs, please! I went ahead and ordered a flight of beer that contained the 4 IPAs on tap – I knew we had a few more stops later in the day so I shied away from the darker beers.

Who doesn’t love a nice crushable IPA? Throw out your crappy commercial beer and drink this all day out on the boat or at the beach!

Homage Hazy

Great hazy IPA and the base for what was our favorite beer of the day which is the coconut variation of this.

Coconut Hazy

I am not a big coconut beer drinker but this was hands down one of the best, if not the best, coconut IPAs I’ve had – we are definitely going back just to get this beer again!

If you have not been to Historically Hoppy yet then you need to plan a trip as soon as possible. Make a day out of it and explore the Springfield Historic District, stopping in for an excellent beer on draft at this chic little brewery. If the coconut hazy IPA is on draft then you must try that as it was the best beer of the day for us and the reason we will be going back again!
