Aardwolf Brewing Company immediately transports you to a different place as you walk through the massive outdoor beer garden. Once inside the taproom, the décor matched with the dimly lit interior offers a comforting setting.
I love that the tap list is glowing in the back due to it being written in black light ink – definitely the most unique tap list I have seen thus far up in North Florida. Mena, Ollie and myself arrived right when the brewery opened and to our surprise, there were a good amount of people there already – this was a great sign that we chose wisely.
Join us as we break down our review of Aardwolf brewing and the beers that we enjoyed as we started our first Jax Ale Trail brewery tour day:
Aardwolf Brewing Company Beer
There are several options ranging from stouts and seltzers to sours and IPAs when you visit Aardwolf so there is surely something for everyone.
A beer flight was the proper option for us as we had three other beer stops on our journey for the day – let’s take a look at our review of each beer we tried:
Spider Monkey
- Type: Imperial Citrus Soda Seltzer
- ABV: 8%
The only beer we tried that wasn’t great. It is not bad by any means but was our least favorite by a mile.
Tim
Lactic Zeppelin
- Type: Sour Ale with Strawberry, Tangerine & Ginger
- ABV: 5%
This was light and refreshing and the ginger gives it a little oomph that made it a great beer – we would definitely order this again or grab a few cans to bring with us.
Tim
Space Prom
- Type: Pale Ale
- ABV: 4.5%
Here is Aardwolf’s day drinker! I could sit at the beach or by the pool and enjoy these all day in the brutal Florida heat.
Tim
Southbank
- Type: Unfiltered IPA
- ABV: 6.5%
Now you are talking! IPAs are my favorite and this was the best beer I had all day.
Tim
The Notorious F.I.G.
- Type: Belgian Amber with Vanilla & Fig
- ABV: 6.1%
We had this on our second trip to Aardwolf and it was amazing. The figs scared us a bit but we were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked this beer.
Tim
JagWater
- Type: Hard Seltzer with Blue Raspberry & Marshmallow
- ABV: 6%
Let’s be clear, we are Miami Dolphins fans at heart but we could not pass up the opportunity to cheer on another Florida team – this seltzer was delicious and we definitely want to have it again when we get the chance. Go Jags – as long as they are not playing the Fins!
Tim
If you don’t have time to sit and enjoy a flight in the tap room, Aardwolf Brewing Company has a stacked fridge of Beer To-Go – I definitely recommended bringing some home as their beer is top-notch.
Aardwolf Brewing Company Food
Aardwolf has a resident food truck, Chancho King, parked out front in their beer garden. Chancho King offers delicious Ecuadorian food which includes pork sandwiches, chicharron, empanadas and more. You can place your order and eat your food outside in the beer garden or inside Aardwolf Brewing, it is totally up to you.
Let’s take a quick look at the food we enjoyed while drinking some of Aardwolf’s amazing beer:
Pork Sandwich
I went with the mild aji sauce as I don’t like spicy food and this sandwich was amazing – the pork was delicious and the pickled red onions were some of the best I’ve had.
Mena
Shroom Sandwich
I am not vegetarian but since Mena went with the pork sandwich I decided to give the shroom one a shot. The spicy aji sauce was incredible and honestly, I think I liked the shroom sandwich more – it really was incredible!
Tim
Chicharron
The gringo in me calls these pork rinds and I was super excited to see these on Chancho King’s menu. There is not a better snack that goes with a cold IPA on a hot day in South Florida – 10/10 some of the best pork rinds, sorry, chicharron, I’ve had.
Tim

All in all, I am glad we finally made it to Aardwolf Brewing because their beer did not disappoint. While the seltzer was not our favorite, the other three beers were outstanding and I cannot wait to go back to try some more!
