The Laundry Diner (Review)

Once we heard the news that one of our favorite breweries, Two Tides Brewing Co., in Savannah, Georgia, were opening a diner, The Laundry Diner, we were eagerly awaiting for when we could drive up and try it out. Luckily The Laundry Diner opened a week before my 40th so it was only right that we take a trip up from Florida to have breakfast on my actual birthday.

Upon walking into the diner we were immediately hit with a sense of nostalgia – The Laundry Diner checks all of the boxes when it comes to representing a good old-fashioned American Diner. I love the high-top bar that you can sit at and I couldn’t believe how big the space was – I had no clue that they had a 2nd floor!

Vibes-aside, let’s dig into what everyone is here for, the review of the food that we had at The Laundry Diner.

The Laundry Diner Food

The Laundry Diner offers a great menu of breakfast items, both savory and sweet. In addition to your typical eggs and meat selection, they also offer fried pickles, hush puppies, and some more hefty items such as the Chicken and Waffles.

Grab a sip of some fresh juice or their Float Coffee – if you are really feeling adventurous then you can down a delicious milkshake for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I also must mention that while they didn’t offer it when we visited, The Laundry Diner will be serving special beer that is brewed specifically for the diner by their brewery, Two Tides Brewing Company.

Hush Puppies

• Description: A Lil’ Bit of Nostalgia Served with Laundry Sauce

Growing up we’d eat hush puppies from Bud’s Chicken & Seafood and it has been years since I’ve had a good one. That all changed when I tasted the hush puppies at The Laundry Diner – you MUST try these little fried nuggets, with the sauce, if you go because they are insanely good!

Cheese Grits

• Description: Creamy Grits with Cheese

I have no shame in saying that I’m a grits snob and judge a breakfast joint by their attempt at grits. The Laundry Diner delivered with their cheesy grits – they were super creamy (not watered down) with just the right amount of cheese. Honestly I could’ve just had a huge bowl of the grits for breakfast and I would’ve been extremely happy.

Chocolate Chip Waffle (Kid’s Menu)

• Description: Waffle with Chocolate Chips and a Side of Fruit

Olllie was stoked when his chocolate chip waffle arrived at the table – his first diner experience was a success.

Breakfast Sandwich

• Description: 2 Eggs Over-Easy, Bacon, American Cheese, and Spicy Ketchup on a Sixby Bun

This sandwich had two perfectly runny eggs, delicious bacon and while I’m not really a ketchup fan, it just worked with this combo. If you do buy this make sure you get plenty of napkins because it is quite messy but I didn’t mind at all with how incredible it tasted.

If you are searching for a good old-fashioned American diner in Savannah, Georgia, then The Laundry Diner is where you need to be. Mena, Ollie and myself had a great time visiting and really enjoyed all of the food we had. The overall vibes are great and the staff was friendly and everything came out super quick.

Keep in mind that The Laundry Diner is still in their “Soft Opening” period so be sure to either call or check their social media accounts to verify their hours of operation.
