Quick Answer: Whatnot is closing its affiliate program on November 30, 2026. Whatnot itself is not going anywhere, and neither are we – we will keep publishing our Whatnot seller reviews, the monthly Most Followed leaderboard and our category guides. If you want to keep earning from Whatnot, the Buyer Referral Program, the Seller Referral Program and the Whatnot Creator Program are all still running.
Disclosure: this post contains a Whatnot affiliate link. Until the program closes on November 30, 2026, we may earn a commission if you shop through it, at no extra cost to you.
We got the news this week from Acceleration Partners, the agency that runs the Whatnot affiliate program through Impact. Below is what is changing, what it means for you as a reader, and the three Whatnot programs that are still open to everyone.
What Is Changing
Whatnot is shutting down its affiliate program – the program that paid websites and creators a commission when someone clicked their link and bought on Whatnot. Here are the key dates:
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Now – Nov 30, 2026 | Affiliate links still work and still track as normal. |
| Nov 30, 2026 | The affiliate program closes. Links stop tracking and no new commissions are earned. |
| Dec 27, 2026 | The final review period for pending commissions ends. |
| Jan 20, 2027 | Final affiliate payouts are sent through Impact. |
This only affects the affiliate program. You can still buy and sell on Whatnot exactly the same way, and every Whatnot link on our site will still take you to Whatnot.
What This Means for You
- Nothing changes when you shop. Prices on Whatnot were never higher because you came from our links, and they won’t be any lower after the change either.
- Our links will keep working. Before November 30 we will switch our Whatnot affiliate links over to regular Whatnot links, so you won’t run into dead links.
- Our disclosures will be updated. Once the switch is done, we will update the affiliate disclosures on our Whatnot posts so they stay accurate. Until then, some Whatnot links on our site are still affiliate links.
We Are Still Posting Whatnot Content
Whatnot started as a hobby for us long before there was any affiliate program, and that hasn’t changed. We still buy from Whatnot sellers ourselves, and we will keep writing about it:
- Our Most Followed Whatnot Sellers leaderboard, refreshed every month
- Honest seller reviews with a real purchase, like our Invictastores watch review – our Electronics review of a G5 retro handheld is next
- Guides like every Whatnot category explained, the best Whatnot sellers by category and is Whatnot legit?
We are also starting to post our Whatnot hauls and unboxings on TikTok and Instagram at @viewfromalove, so follow along there too.

Whatnot Programs That Are Still Open
These three programs are separate from the affiliate program and are run by Whatnot directly. None of them are closing.
1. Whatnot Buyer Referral Program
The Buyer Referral Program is for anyone with a Whatnot account who wants to invite friends. When someone new signs up with your referral link, they get Whatnot credit, and you get credit too once their first purchase is completed and delivered. Here is how it works, based on Whatnot’s Buyer Referral Program page:
- Where to find your link: in the Whatnot app or on whatnot.com, tap the gift icon on the Home page and copy your Buyer Referral link (not the Seller Referral link).
- Who counts: someone who has never had a Whatnot account, signs up with your link and verifies their phone number. Each new buyer can only use one referral link.
- What they need to do: complete a first purchase in the app or on the website. There is no minimum order amount, but canceled, refunded or disputed orders don’t count.
- How much you get: amounts vary by account, region and promotion, so check your offer in the app. Under Whatnot’s randomized U.S. program, every referral is worth at least $10 in credit, and some are worth up to $200.
- Using the credit: it is applied automatically at checkout, in shows or Buy It Now, with no minimum spend. It covers the item subtotal only – not shipping, taxes or fees – and it can expire 90 days after it is issued.
- Limits: credit has no cash value and can’t be transferred. Whatnot also asks that referral links be shared personally – no coupon sites, spam or bots.
2. Whatnot Seller Referral Program
The Seller Referral Program is for existing Whatnot sellers who want to bring new sellers onto the platform. According to Whatnot’s Seller Referral Program page:
- Who can refer: approved live sellers in good standing who have already cashed out earnings, with no active Trust & Safety violations. You can only refer sellers in your own country.
- Where to find your link: Seller Hub, then Seller Referral on the website, or Seller Hub, then the menu, then Invite a Seller & Earn in the app.
- Who counts: someone who has never applied to sell on Whatnot and applies with your Seller Referral link.
- What they need to do: hit the selling milestones for their location, such as going live, reaching a sales amount and selling to a minimum number of buyers. Those orders have to ship and be delivered, and giveaways, free pickup and private shows don’t count.
- What you get: a Seller Referral Reward added to your Whatnot balance, which you can then cash out. The amount varies by location and is shown on your Seller Referral page. The new seller may also qualify for Whatnot’s first-week sales match bonus.
3. Whatnot Creator Program (TikTok and Instagram)
The Whatnot Creator Program is for anyone who makes TikTok or Instagram videos about their Whatnot shopping, and you don’t need a big following to join.
- What to post: a Shopping Haul video showing what you bought on Whatnot and what the experience was like, posted on TikTok or Instagram.
- How to enter: post the video, then submit it through the form on the Creator Program site so the Whatnot team can review it. There is no limit on how many videos you submit.
- What you can earn: selected videos earn either $300 in Whatnot shopping credit or $200 cash. Rewards can take up to 7 business days, and cash is paid through Lumanu.
- Good to know: Whatnot gets the right to use a selected video for one year, including running it as a paid ad. Keep it real – videos must reflect your genuine Whatnot experience. The site also has current challenges, pre-approved sounds and webinars to help.
| Program | Who it’s for | What you earn |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer Referral | Any Whatnot user inviting new buyers | Whatnot credit for you and your friend |
| Seller Referral | Approved Whatnot sellers inviting new sellers | A cash-out reward in your Whatnot balance |
| Creator Program | Anyone posting Whatnot hauls on TikTok or Instagram | $300 Whatnot credit or $200 cash per selected video |
If You Are a Whatnot Affiliate Too
If you also promote Whatnot through Impact, here is what the program recommends doing before November 30:
- Replace Whatnot affiliate links in blog posts, reviews, emails, social bios, link-in-bio pages and video descriptions with plain Whatnot links.
- Remove any Whatnot banners, widgets or paid placements that use tracking links.
- Update the affiliate disclosures on those pages so they stay accurate.
- Check your pending and approved earnings in Impact, and contact [email protected] by November 15 if anything needs fixing. After November 30, Whatnot asks that questions go to [email protected].
