Quick Answer: Sports cards and trading card games (TCG) sell best on Whatnot. They are the platform’s two biggest categories, followed by women’s fashion, toys & hobbies, and beauty. Together, those five categories made up 74% of Whatnot’s U.S. sales in 2025. The fastest-growing categories were beauty (+791%), electronics (+444%), jewelry (+259%), and women’s fashion (+223%).

Those numbers come from Whatnot’s own 2026 State of Live Selling report. To see what is actually selling inside each category right now, we went a step further.

In October 2026, we screen-recorded the Top Sellers: This Week leaderboard in 29 Whatnot categories, checked the live profiles of more than 470 sellers, and noted which subcategories were drawing the most viewers on a Sunday night. We have also bought from sellers in 16 categories ourselves, so we know what those items actually cost.

The 5 Best-Selling Categories on Whatnot

According to Whatnot’s 2026 State of Live Selling report (via Sports Collectors Daily), these were the top U.S. categories in 2025, in order:

  1. Sports Cards: U.S. buyers purchase more than 6.4 million sports cards a month on Whatnot.
  2. Trading Card Games: Pokémon leads the category.
  3. Women’s Fashion: more than 12 million orders a month, or about 6,000 items sold every hour.
  4. Toys & Hobbies: blind boxes, pins, figures and liquidation toy lots.
  5. Beauty: U.S. buyers watched 570,000 hours of beauty shows every week.

Whatnot says it passed $8 billion in sales in 2025, more than double the year before. Here is what is selling inside each of those five categories this month.

1. Sports Cards

This week’s #1 Sports Cards seller was cardboard47, which runs repacks and random-team card breaks. The most followed sports card seller, joehollywood, focuses on sealed packs and boxes, rookie and insert hunts, and autographed memorabilia. Whatnot named Bowman Chrome hobby boxes among the most actively sold items across every category.

What sells: breaks and repacks, sealed hobby boxes, rookie cards, and singles of star players. Interest in women’s sports is climbing fast. Whatnot says WNBA card searches grew three times faster than NBA card searches in 2025.

2. Trading Card Games

Pokémon dominates. The most followed TCG seller, vortexbreaks, runs almost nothing but Pokémon shows, from sealed booster boxes and new sets to graded slabs. This week’s #1 TCG seller, spacenarwhalz, mixes Pokémon, graded cards and vintage.

What sells: sealed Pokémon product, new-release booster boxes, graded slabs and vintage cards. Magic: The Gathering also moves well. We won a sealed TMNT Magic bundle (MSRP $49.99) for $18 in our Gamecorps_Live review.

3. Women’s Fashion

This week’s #1 Women’s Fashion seller was 36samplesale, which sells brand-name pajamas, bras, denim and dresses from labels like Halara, Judy Blue and Nordstrom. Many of the top sellers run $1-start shows of new-with-tags (NWT) clothing, often from retail overstock and pallet pulls.

What sells: NWT brand-name basics, denim, activewear, loungewear and plus-size lines. Whatnot expects bolder prints and louder fashion to keep growing in 2026.

4. Toys & Hobbies

This week’s #1 Toys & Hobbies seller was gopinpro, which sells authentic Disney pins. Much of the rest of the top 50 is deal and liquidation sellers moving mixed toy lots at $1 starts. The most followed toy seller, woosleys, sells collectibles and mystery products; we bought blind boxes and pop culture collectibles there for $35 in our Woosleys review.

What sells: blind boxes, Disney pins, collectible figures and discounted toy lots. Whatnot also expects nostalgia toys like Furbies and Beanie Babies to keep coming back.

5. Beauty

Beauty is Whatnot’s fastest-growing category, up 791% in 2025. This week’s #1 Beauty seller, beautyblitzwholesale (more than 1.5 million items sold), runs $1-start shows of luxury makeup from brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Gucci. The most followed beauty seller, giftexpress, sells designer fragrance.

What sells: luxury and prestige makeup, designer perfume and cologne, skincare bundles and drugstore lots. We bought 24 Sephora beauty items for $150 in our SassyLolaShop review.

The Fastest-Growing Categories on Whatnot

These categories grew the fastest in 2025, according to Whatnot. A fast-growing category usually means more buyers are arriving than sellers, which is good news if you are thinking about selling.

Electronics+444%Liquidation tech, gadgets and power tools
Jewelry+259%Sterling silver, solid gold and $1-start watches

Electronics: the weekly top 10 is dominated by liquidation sellers such as dailydealzga, liquidationkingss and cheaperthanretail, plus tool sellers like larry_tool_deals and freedomtoolsshop. Returned and overstock tech sold at $1 starts is the formula.

Jewelry & Watches: this week’s #1 seller was invictastores, the official Invicta watch shop, ahead of jaysjewels, which sells sterling silver and solid gold. We won an Invicta men’s watch (MSRP $99) for $8 in our Invictastores review.

Coins & precious metals: not in the growth list above, but Whatnot says gold, silver and platinum searches more than doubled in 2025 (Tubefilter). This week’s #1 Coins seller, traderbea, has sold more than 1 million items.

What Should You Sell on Whatnot?

If you are deciding what to sell, the data above points to a few clear lessons:

  1. Pick a lane. Almost every weekly #1 seller sticks to one product type: Disney pins, vinyl, golf, candy cases, Pokémon. Buyers follow specialists.
  2. Start at $1. Most top sellers in fashion, beauty, electronics, toys and wholesale run $1-start auctions. Low starts pull viewers in, and bidding does the rest.
  3. Source from overstock and liquidation. Pallet pulls and retail overstock feed many of the top shows in Women’s Fashion, Electronics, Toys and Wholesale.
  4. Go live often. In Whatnot’s report, sellers who went live once a week averaged about $3,500 a month, sellers who went live 3 to 4 times a week averaged about $12,000, and daily sellers averaged around $60,000 or more.
  5. Watch the fast growers. Beauty, electronics and jewelry are growing fastest, and gold and silver searches more than doubled in 2025.
